Soojin Poole, MS, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 97800) and is the Clinical Director of Personal Evolution Psychotherapy. Soojin began working at Personal Evolution Psychotherapy in 2016. She is first generation, bi-racial, Korean-American; and was born and raised in the Navy. Life can have many uncertainties, but one constant is change. Soojin believes in approaching effective, evidence-based therapy with compassion and non-judgement across all scopes of society to move towards change and acceptance. She firmly believes that all individuals deserve, and are able, to live a life worth living. Soojin believes in creating a safe, authentic space to develop a working therapeutic relationship to collaboratively help individuals experience change and acceptance as steps towards living a more authentic self.

Soojin received her Masters in Counseling in 2013 from the University of Phoenix in San Diego and received her Bachelors from the University of Arizona in Economics. Her professional experience includes working with individuals in a community-based, short-term residential program and in an outpatient program working with severe and persistent mental health disorders. Working in the outpatient setting included experience working with individuals, as well as their family and other support systems, in areas of concern including severe mental illness, mood/anxiety disorders, co-occurring substance use disorders, conflicts in interpersonal relationships, life transitions, trauma, chronic pain, immigration and refugee histories, children, adolescents, and adults. Soojin has training in various therapy approaches including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy (seeking safety), solution-focused therapy, crisis intervention, couples therapy, and family therapy. She also has a history in working with children with developmental delays.
Soojin has nearly 5 years of practicing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and 5 additional years providing behavioral based therapy to children and adolescents. She has experience with establishing and implementing a modified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program at the Douglas Young BPSR Wellness Center, trained and supported staff who provided DBT services at the center, and facilitated Community Research Foundation’s DBT workshop for the DBT champions at various CRF services lines. As a member of the PEP DBT team, Soojin provides comprehensive DBT to teens, adults, couples and families.
She has experience with and enjoys working with people in the LGBTQ+ community and is Kink/poly-friendly. She is a member of Personal Evolution Psychotherapy’s gender consultation team.
