Carissa Pilkington, MSW, LCSW is an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS #108101). Carissa is a warm and empathic therapist who genuinely cares about the people she works with. She utilizes a non judgmental therapeutic approach, and enjoys working with clients in all the different phase of life.

Carissa completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2018 from San Diego State University, focusing her studies and internships on working with children and youth. Her graduate internship experience included working with students at High Tech Chula Vista, The Monarch School, and at San Diego Youth Services Counseling Cove. Prior to completing her MSW degree, Carissa obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2013 and then spent over two years working for WRC Oceanside with individuals and families who had experienced domestic violence.

After completing her MSW, Carissa worked at one of Community Research Foundation’s Crisis Centers for two years where she worked with individual adults experiencing psychiatric crisis, working on a team to provide crisis stabilization, counseling, and case management services. Carissa is a member of PEP’s DBT consultation team.
