Subsequent career moves included providing grief support in a local church and directing a youth ministry program catering to middle and high school youth, with their families. All of this led down a path culminating in a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Brandman University in 2021.

Lorrie’s clinical training began in residential and outpatient facilities giving support to LGBTQIA+ adults with substance use and co-occurring mood disorders. Through individual and group therapy sessions, she provided trauma informed care to clients seeking long-term addiction recovery. In post graduate work, Lorrie has served as the lead clinician in a partial hospitalization program for adolescents and teens in crisis.

In her time at PEP, Lorrie has completed the DBT Foundational Training and participated in training for DBT Prolonged Exposure to treat PTSD and other trauma. She continues to participate in a weekly DBT consultation team with therapists from PEP to help provide comprehensive DBT to teens, adults, couples, parents, and families.

Currently, Lorrie is being clinically supervised by Soojin Poole, LMFT (97800) at Personal Evolution Psychotherapy.
