Emily Kron, MA, MFTI, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (IMF102765). Emily is a warm, compassionate, and authentic therapist who is open and collaborative with clients and dedicated to helping others. She offers a welcoming and non-judgmental environment when working with teens, adults, couples and families. She will work with you to create a unique evidence-based treatment plan that fits your specific needs. Emily also enjoys working with the LGBTQIA and Trans communities. Emily’s therapeutic orientation is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which she has extensive training in.
Emily earned her Master’s Degree in Marital and Family Therapy in 2017 from the University of San Diego and her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 2013. During graduate school, Emily completed her practicum year at the University of California San Diego Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research (UCSD ERC) as an Adolescent Milieu Therapist. There, Emily worked on a partial hospitalization unit providing group and individual therapy for adolescents with eating disorders as well as leading multi-family and parent groups. She gained experience working with teens with multiple diagnoses including depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
Emily also has experience with Autism, Down’s syndrome, and OCD. She worked in special education in a school-based setting for two years has training in special needs and developing social skills. Emily has experience using various evidence-based practices: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and family therapy. Emily enjoys working at PEP and providing gender therapy to people of all backgrounds, and is Kink and Poly friendly. She is under the clinical supervision of Sue Boyd, LCSW, BCD, LCS#24597.
