Aubrey Valleau LMSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both California and Michigan. Aubrey seeks to understand each of her clients as an individual and meet them where they are at without judgment or pressure. She aims to provide genuine warmth and support to her clients throughout periods of growth. At Personal Evolution Psychotherapy, Aubrey provides comprehensive DBT to individuals, couples and families.
Aubrey completed her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2015, at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While working towards her Master’s Degree, Aubrey practiced at Kent County Jail as a therapist treating individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and severe mental health diagnoses. She then started work for the State of Michigan at a state psychiatric hospital. During that time, Aubrey provided both individual and group therapy to patients diagnosed with severe mental illness including mood disorders, anxiety, thought disorders, co-occurring substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, and personality disorders. Aubrey completed forensic evaluations and competency restoration for forensic patients. She also provided community reintegration services, case management, discharge planning, and family support in this position.
After several years, Aubrey relocated to California where she has most recently been working at a medical hospital in the position of Clinical Social Worker. In this role, Aubrey provided crisis intervention and brief supportive therapy to patients experiencing significant trauma as well as case management services for social issues. In each of these positions, Aubrey has maintained a focus of building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients and providing a safe space for creating change.
